 Exploring friendlessness in their adult years

In our study, we spoke with 21 females and males to understand experiences of friendlessness. Over fifty percent remained in the "quarter life" stage, meaning they remained in their 20s or 30s. They varied from young specialists, to pupils, to base pay employees.


Some individuals had abundant family lives, professional lives or spousal partnerships. Others were almost totally socially separated. Still, all individuals saw doing not have friends as something they dealt with, thought of or had to warrant to others.
